About Quirky Bird Chocolatier

Hey! I'm Sarah. After years working for NHS trusts and private hospitals as a Specialist Theatre Practitioner in anaesthetics and critical care, health challenges led me to pursue a completely different path. I've always loved chocolate, so I decided to become a chocolatier.

In January 2026, I trained one-to-one with Paul A Young, an award-winning chocolatier recognised for his innovative work and TV appearances. That training gave me the confidence to experiment boldly with flavours. You'll spot my little creations regularly—like a white chocolate with salt and pepper that tastes absolutely amazing.

Working with chocolate is messy, chaotic, and definitely not kind to the waistline. But when I see people's reactions to my creations, it's completely worthwhile. All the chocolates are made by hand on a Narrow Boat which I sometimes live on with my partner Bruce, Jasper the Golden Doodle and Milo the Cockapoo and the rest of the time exploring in Velma the T4 camper.
